To support PA Bankers members in their financial education programs, the association commissioned the authoring of "My Savings Book and Journal." This book provides banks across Pennsylvania with a financial education resource for young people. This financial tool is meant to assist members in fostering financial awareness among young students and families while providing motivation, education and tips to help children understand the basics of good savings habits. Other Financial Literacy Initiatives


ABA Education Foundation
PA Bankers is proud to work with the ABA Education Foundation to provide financial literacy opportunities to kids throughout Pennsylvania. Additionally, the association hosts several initiatives to encourage better banking habits in youth, including:
  • Teach Children to Save : An annual event in April in which bankers visit students in grades K-8 to talk about savings
  • Get Smart About Credit : An October event in which bankers visit local high school students to talk about the importance of establishing and maintaining good credit
Money Start
The FDIC's Money Smart financial education program can help people of all ages enhance their financial skills and create positive banking relationships.

PA Jump$tart
The Pennsylvania Jump$tart Coalition is an independent affiliate of the national Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy.

PA Forward
PA Forward is a statewide initiative under the PA Library Association (PaLA), which works to strengthen the state's libraries through education, advocacy and leadership.

Pennsylvania Statewide Afterschool/Youth Development Network (PSAYDN)
The mission of PSAYDN is to promote sustainable, high quality OST (out-of-school time) youth development programs through advocacy and capacity building to enhance the welfare of Pennsylvania’s children, youth and families.
